Gilles is a career Records and Information Management professional with over 40 years of experience.
Gilles started his career with the National Archives of Canada in 1980 untill 1999. From 1993 to 1999, he was the Director of Records Management Services, overseeing the delivery of mail, messenger and records management services.
Gilles moved to the private sector in 1999 and created his records and information management consultancy.
Gilles personally leads all records management projects from start to end.
When larger projects require supplemental resources, RM Trends uses only highly qualified and experienced consultants on your project. As a client, you have the opportunity to review the consultant profile and experience before the project begins.
As the project lead, Gilles reviews all deliverables prior to deivery to clients, and performs rigorous quality control.
Gilles has been directly involve with the management of electronic records since the very beginning (early 1980s).
He has participated in the development of functional specifications for electronic records management applications for the first comercial ERM/ECM applications in North America: ForeMOST and Public Sector Software - Records MAnagement; the grandfathers of leading technologies such as Documentum and OpenText.
He has used this knowledge and experience to facilitate the implementation of various brands of ERM/ECM software in multiple organizations.
Gilles does not believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach. With the advances made in technologies over the last 20 years, there is a number of proven technologies on the market today as stated in Gartner's Magic Quadrant.
The key success factor in implementing this type of technology is developing realistic functional requirements based on the needs of the organization, selecting the software that meets best those requirements and engaging an experienced electronic records management consultant to coordinate the organization's business and technical (IT) requirements, and the software vendor's implementation approach.
